						Our International Relations specialisation will provide you with an insight into these players and into fundamental questions of contemporary international relations: is the international community equipped to address violent conflict and (cyber) terrorism? Why do states intervene in some cases of human rights violations, but not in other? Will the competition for natural resources intensify domestic and international conflict? What are the political consequences of regional integration (in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia) and of the emergence of powers such as Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRICs)? What are the political ramifications of global trade and finance?

The Master's in International Relations is a specialisation of the Master's programme in Political Science. For the fifth time in a row, this programme was rated number one in the Netherlands by the Keuzegids Masters 2017 (Guide to Master's programmes).

Radboud University's Master's programme in Political Science offers you a unique opportunity to become a specialist in International Relations. The programme is intensive and integrated. Teaching takes place in a stimulating setting of small groups and trains analytical and practical skills. opbouwIn this specialisation you will learn about recent developments in International relations theory, practise how to analyse conflicts concerning resources, the changing nature of war, European Union politics, the processes of globalisation, socio-economic inequality and questions of identity by following courses such as Current Debates in International Relations Theory, Global Political Economy, Cooperation and Conflict in the 21st Century.

The Master's specialisation in International Relations is taught at the Nijmegen School of Management. It has a course load of 60 EC (one-year). All the courses are 6 EC and the Master's thesis is 18 EC. Apart from courses in International Relations, the curriculum contains research courses, and an elective course or internship.

This specialisation allows students to gain analytical skills and knowledge in order to prepare themselves for positions in policy and programme development in national, EU, and international public and private sector organisations. Your knowledge and skills are also sought after in consulting, (inter)national diplomacy with the EU, in local, regional and national government, with business, media and think-tanks. Furthermore, the specialisation is an expellent base to go on with a PhD project.
