specialisatie Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship
Uncover the business of cultural and creative industries. Want to become a leading thinker at the crossroads between art and economics? This master specialisation will be perfect for you.
Uncover the business of culture: get the art facts. How to tell the worth of an oeuvre? Who decides? How do cultural entrepreneurs operate in the culture market? It's all about cultural economics.
The cultural and creative sectors face constant challenges. Our students acquire the knowledge and skills to identify and and overcome them. Students acquire a solid background in cultural economics, cultural entrepreneurship, and research methods.
Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship differs from the other programmes on cultural management because of his double perspective: cultural economics and cultural entrepreneurship. We put a greater emphasis on cutting-edge theory and original empirical research, next to providing first hand experience with entrepreneurial projects.
Due to the ability of our graduates to apply cutting edge economic theories to long-term cultural developments and trends, they are much sought-after in consultancies, private businesses as well as public institutions.
specialisatie Tourism, Culture and Society
Explore the world through the study of tourism. Why do people travel? What role do media play in the tourism industry? It's all about understanding the interplay between tourism, culture and society.
Explore the world through the study of tourism. Why do people travel? For example, how can we make sense of New Zealand's 50% increase in tourism after the release of the Lord of the Rings trilogy? What makes a city or region attractive to visit: what motivates over 1.5 million people each year to visit Auschwitz in Poland? What role do media play in tourism industry?
These are just some of the questions that are dealt with within the master specialisation. Become a specialist in one of the fastest growing sectors of today's society. We provide you with the knowledge and skills to anticipate and understand the global dynamics between societies, cultures, media and tourism.
